More than 40 years ago, an entrepreneur named Bruce Mailman approached the Spitz company to help him fulfill a vision, as he said, of »a new technology to transcend« the walls of a typical discotheque. In this paper, we will explore the cultural and historical significance of Mailman's brainchild - The Saint Nightclub in New York City. A truly unique immersive experience of space and sound, The Saint existed at the nexus of dome, dance, and desire. The result was a venue unlike anything before - or since.
