Presentation theme: inclusion diversity equity accessibility

The International Planetarium Society (IPS) established the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee In 2019, in recognition of the organization’s need to grow, evolve, and stay relevant as a large professional organization in a rapidly-changing world. The EDI Committee exists to make sure the IPS fully benefits from the talents of all its members, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual identity, and/or disability, and strives to foster an environment where we respect and embrace equity, diversity, and inclusion in people, ideas, and opinions, and where every IPS member can experience a sense of belonging within the IPS community.

Moderated by the Committee’s past and present co-Chairs, this important track of IPS EDI-related presentations, panels, and forums will dive into the goals and activities of the Committee since its inception, and will engage all participants in reflection and discussion on current and future needs of the organization as it relates to improving issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Please join us, as we want every IPS member to be an active participant in this commitment to strengthen our communities as we work hard to learn and grow together.
