The IPS Immersive Sound Committee in collaboration with IMERSA conducted a sound experience survey to help the fulldome amd planetarium communities grow better awareness oft he current state of audio production workflow, presentation, and distribution in domes. The goal oft he survey ist o help identify challenges and to start to propose solutions to address how to achieve the best audio experience in these spaces. The survey addresses workflows and technological solutions for audio creators and engineers, workflows and technological solutions for planetarium system design, program delivery, show production and education, and methods of audio distribution and delivery. This presentation will present our initial report about our findings from the survey and propose thoughts and ideas for how we address sound production for fulldome spaces as we move into the future.
