Laser show eclecticism

Presentation theme: fulldome

In 2023 the premiere of Cybershow 2517 took place in Copernicus Science Centre Planetarium. We aimed to create a lasershow that pays homage to the music and games of the 80s through various styles and forms. Utilizing different aesthetics such as pixel art and polygon-based graphics, as well as various media like lasers and fulldome projection, it's easy to risk losing the coherence of the work. So, how do we prevent that? 

How can we ensure that the entire show forms a cohesive whole? Throughout the presentation, we will discuss the challenges we faced and how we overcame them. We will focus on whether storytelling is essential in a lasershow, how to seamlessly integrate graphics on the dome with lasers using laser mapping, and how to ensure that eclecticism doesn't create chaos but rather provides a creative environment for artistic expression. 

We would also like to show how lasers can enhance the animation on the dome, making them 'alive' and vivid!
